Loan tapes

Format and example files

A loan tape is whatever spreadsheet your systems already produce. SPCR does not ask you to reformat it.

What SPCR reads

One column: the Loan ID. Every other column is ignored.

Accepted formats are .xlsx, .xls, .csv, .tsv and plain text. Up to 5,000 rows per submission. You can also skip the file entirely and type Loan IDs by hand.

You do not need to strip debtor names or amounts out before uploading. SPCR ignores them and never puts them on the blockchain. If removing them makes a compliance conversation shorter, remove them: the file works with a single column.

Build a tape to try

This is for exercising the product before you have a book to register. If you already run an originator workspace, your own systems produce your loan tapes and nothing here needs to change about them: SPCR reads one column out of whatever they export.

Put a company name in and it generates a tape carrying real, correctly-formed identifiers. If you have not got a workspace yet, pick one of the demo workspaces instead: anyone can sign in to those and register the tape for real.

Build a tape with your own identifiers

Generated in your browser. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere.

Becomes the prefix on every Loan ID. Letters and digits only, so spaces and punctuation turn into dashes.
Anyone can sign in to these and register the tape for real.
One pool per series. Pick an unused number if a row comes back as already registered.
Debtors and amounts are invented.

Enter a company name, or pick a demo workspace, to build a tape.

Why it asks for your company. A Loan ID can only ever be registered once, registry-wide, so a shared example file works exactly once: the first person to upload it succeeds and everybody after gets every row rejected. Your own prefix avoids that.

Why it asks for a series. One pool per series, so Series 4 produces the pool code YOURCO-2026-P4 and Loan IDs under it. If you have already used a series, pick another number rather than editing the file.

Trying one out

  1. Sign in and open a workspace. If you are using a demo one, see Levels of access.
  2. Register receivables then + New pool. Use the pool code the builder shows you, and give it a passkey. Keep the passkey; you need it at step 5.
  3. Choose that pool, upload the file, and review the rows.
  4. Submit. Each row comes back with its own verdict and a transaction link.
  5. Go to spcr.io, paste in one of the Loan IDs and the passkey, and verify it. That is what your funder will see.
  6. Then the real point of the product: go back and try to register the same file into a different pool. Every row is refused as already registered.

Step 6 is the one worth doing.

Fixed example files

If you would rather not generate one, these are pre-made. They all use the prefix YOURCO, so change it before registering or expect the rows to come back as already registered.

Writing your own

See Loan ID rules before you generate identifiers you cannot change afterwards. The short version: no spaces, 5 to 64 characters, letters, digits and - _ / . only, and permanent once registered.
